A Step into the Depths

About this book

Mohamed Naim’s young adult alternative-history novel revisits the disappearance of Al-Hakim bi-Amr Allah. It draws on accounts of assassination by his opponents, including the possibility of his sister Sitt al-Mulk’s involvement. Nour and his companions offer a different version: one in which the ruler sacrifices himself for a noble purpose.
