About this book
In Mohamed Ahmed Hussein’s historical mystery, young Hassan El-Attar enters an isolated shelter on the outskirts of Alexandria in the early 1940s. He finds that he must follow the same unfamiliar rules as the children living there. Everyone is to stay awake at night and sleep during the day. They must keep away from a small abandoned building beside the shelter. Breaking the rules brings the threat of terrifying consequences.
