On a Clothesline That Does Not Lead to the Throne

About this book

Mohamed Nasser El-Saeedi’s poetry collection sets dreams upon washing lines and follows birds as they rise towards the throne and light. These images bring waiting into contact with poetry and hope. Pain and estrangement appear alongside eloquence, songs, fascination with verse, coffee and madness. Words and desire fill the life evoked by the poems.
