1900; or, The Last President

About this book

Originally written in 1896, Lockwood’s political fiction imagines an unexpected electoral victory followed by unrest, institutional conflict and radical economic change in the United States. This Arabic edition, translated by Moustafa Younes, explores the tensions between popular anger, promises of reform and the fragility of political institutions.
