Beyond the Badge

About this book

Beginning in Chicago in 1934, Mostafa Younes recounts twelve real cases associated with the FBI, using a literary approach to examine the people behind the institution. The cases include a double agent, a public hero recast by media prejudice, and a killer whose coded messages challenge those pursuing him. The book considers the distance between enforcing the law and achieving justice. Ambition, greed, error and responsibility become as important as the pursuit of criminals, revealing the human costs of investigations and institutional power.
