The Earth Does Not Bury Its Dead

About this book

A village cannot keep its dead buried: each burial is followed by the earth returning the body. Its inhabitants wonder whether they face a trial or a curse. Mus'ad, a man in his forties concerned with the troubles of his wider community, searches for an explanation that might offer a way out. The novel follows his pursuit of answers and the movement from doubt toward certainty. An impossible event becomes the starting point for his attempt to understand what is happening to the village.
