A wooden box in his grandfather's attic gives Seif a journal and the voice of a woman he has never met. What first seems a record of another time becomes a route toward it, pointing to a passage accessible only through the light of truth. Following the journal, he crosses a bridge beyond ordinary reality in search of the woman. Unrecorded eras, watchful nonhuman beings, and a struggle between light and shadow turn his search into a time-travel adventure guided by love.
