Rhodopis and Other Tales

About this book

Many readers know the European tale of Cinderella, but fewer encounter its ancient Egyptian predecessor. Safaa Hussein Alajmawi retells the story of Rhodopis, whose life changes after her wealthy merchant father remarries. The volume opens from that legendary figure into further tales rooted in the imagination and history of ancient Egypt.
