Lenin and the Adventure of Socialism

About this book

Abdullah Khalifa studies Lenin's attempt to turn Marxist ideas into a political project, considering its contradictions, mistakes and challenges. The book examines the relationship between revolutionary thought and the exercise of power, as well as the influence of Lenin's experience on political systems in differing social and economic settings. Khalifa connects this historical reading with present-day questions about what the socialist experience can contribute to an understanding of modern political thought.
