Life and work
About Ford Madox Ford
He founded the English Review in 1908 and helped circulate modernist writing through his editorial work. He is best known for The Good Soldier (1915), whose events emerge through an unreliable narrator and a disrupted chronology. His First World War experience informed the Parade’s End tetralogy. His work combines narrative experiment with an interest in history and culture, encompassing poetry, criticism, travel writing and reminiscence alongside fiction.
